Lighting Design by Rolf Zavelberg

Rolf Zavelberg has a distinct sense of space and mood. Whether it's an industry museum, railway tunnel, large stage, square or church – he is capable of designing (or perhaps rather 'tuning') these places with few means . His tools are diverse. Depending on the requirements he uses: the architecture and existing elements, light installations, video, art...

When doing the lighting for concerts, he records the music and transforms it live into the constantly changing “Bilder aus Licht” (images made of light), which then again react to the music, as well as interact with it. He makes paintings with light and shadows. He uses architecture, round and square screens, panels and much more as projection surfaces.

It is a “light to listen to”, that conveys a feeling of security, a quiet light, that invites one to pause and think. It is also quietly precise, because Rolf Zavelberg pays attention to not allowing the projector's own sound to disturb the enjoyment of the music (and silence).

Numerous photographic impressions of his works can be found on the web page www.klangvisionen.info, for example from the concert with MOVING SOUNDS in the Collegiate Church Enger.

We are happy to also consult you personally, to help you make your venue appear in the right light. You can contact us via the contact form or by telephone: +49 221 9348118.
