OLIVERS ADVENTURE is a Suite with nine pieces for children's orchestra, including some sung passages and a speaker, who tells a small story about Oliver.
The pieces were written in March 2009, while Markus Stockhausen and his wife were waiting for the birth of their daughter Inaya.
OLIVER'S ADVENTURE was created at the invitation of two enthusiastic teachers, who perform with children of primary school age: Gerlind Hentschel with her strings class at the Boppard-Buchholz Primary School, and Angela Groh with her winds class at the primary school 'Freie Schule Seligenstadt'.

The titles of the nine pieces are:
1. Auf dem Wege zum Schloss (On the way to the castle)
2. Tanz der Prinzessin Inaya (Princess Inaya's dance)
3. Quatsch mit Soße (Silly Song)
4. Mondtraum (Moon dream)
5. Stiller Bach und Glitzern auf dem See (Still stream and sparkles on the lake)
6. Mutprobe (Test of courage)
7. Das Ungeheuer (The monster)
8. Erlösung (Release)
9. Yes we can!
The pieces were performed in 2010 by the Rheinische Musikschule (Cologne), and the documentation of this event has been published (December 2010) as a media-book consisting of a CD, a DVD and a richly illustrated booklet.
The composition was sponsored by the Rheinenergie Stiftung Kultur.
The CD (media-book?) production was sponsored by the Strecker Stiftung, the Rheinische Musikschule (Cologne), the Verband Deutscher Schulmusiker e.V., West German Radio 3 and the Initiative Hören e.V.

The project "Stockhausen for kids – Junge Töne III" with the Freie Schule Seligenstadt and the Boppard-Buchholz Primary School won first prize in the category Small Children very large – from early education to children's ensembles in the Tag der Musik 2009 competition, initiated by the German Cultural Council and the ARD.
